Last month, Fetch had the opportunity to attend Chicago’s NAA Apartmentalize as exhibitors. Being that this was the first in-person event the team could join together for since March of 2020, it was a refreshing kickoff to reconnecting in the industry.
“In person is always better in our industry. Video has been a great filler, but we thrive on personable interaction and face-to-face emotional connections. Everyone was excited to finally see people. It was less attended than previous years, but I was pleasantly surprised at the number and quality of clients we were able to catch up with,” said Joe Summers, vice president of sales at Fetch.
One of Fetch’s Regional sales managers, Mike Schmitt, attended Apartmentalize to strengthen relationships with prospects and clients. One of the most common conversations he found himself having with prospective clients was simply what Fetch can do to solve their problems. During the pandemic and with the increase of online purchases, many apartment communities found that their package problems were worse than ever. With residents primarily shopping online, an influx of everything from desks to household necessities were delivered directly to multifamily communities, adding hours of package management to on-site teams’ list of day-to-day responsibilities. Schmitt spoke with many prospective clients and groups, and found the package problem in multifamily housing is on the rise even as people begin to find their new normal.
Luckily, Fetch has a solution for that.
Since Schmitt oversees the Chicago market for Fetch, he was able to meet with Chicago property owners and managers and chat about where the package climate is headed for the 2021 Apartmentalize based area. “Being able to mention specific properties and people was hugely beneficial when talking to Chicago prospects.”
Chicago is home to one of Fetch’s newer markets. With almost 40 Chicago communities already utilizing our direct-to-door service, including properties managed by Greystar Management, Bozzuto Management Company, and Laramar Group, there is exciting growth on the horizon and a great opportunity for communities to get out of the package game.
